Men dislike high-street shopping. While the girlfriend walks for hours from shop to shop and changing room to changing room, he trots along annoyed or at least bored and is degraded to the role of a bag carrier. This or something similar is the stereotype of the male buyer in the minds of many people. It’s no wonder that many prefer to look online for smart new shoes or a smart jacket for spring. The fashion experts at Outfittery want to help men who are plagued by shopping and fashion insecurities. Europe’s largest personal shopping service for men advises all those who want to develop their style. After answering a few questions, they receive a box with their very personal outfit, tailored to their preferences, size and budget. For shipments to Austria, the e-commerce provider from Berlin has been receiving support from the logistics and parcel shipping experts at Seven Senders since 2017.



No chance for shopping stress! 

At Outfittery, a personal stylist puts together a selection of clothes for customers, which are then conveniently sent home for fitting. To select the ideal wardrobe, the stylists are supported by algorithms. What the customer likes, they keep, the rest is sent back free of charge. There are around 100 fashion brands on offer. Outfittery’s goal: to make shopping for men as relaxed and easy as possible. The Berlin company was founded in 2012 by Julia Bösch and Anna Alex and merged with the Curated Shopping Group in May 2019. It employs around 450 people, the majority of whom are stylists. Outfittery has so far dressed around one million men and is currently active in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Sweden, Denmark and France.

Shipping and delivery are a central part of the customer experience

The focus of Outfittery’s target group approach is the convenient purchase of high-quality outfits, which have been put together by experts. This also includes a good delivery experience, because, in the flourishing online business, consumer expectations of service are also increasing. A decisive factor for a positive customer experience is the professional shipping process. Speed, reliability, and traceability are important for delivery. Short delivery times for individually assembled boxes of clothing as well as an appealing unboxing experience and simple processing of returns are therefore indispensable for customers.

Initially tied to two contractual partners in Austria

When it comes to shipping and supply chain management of tens of thousands of packages that have to be sent to customers in Austria year after year. Outfittery has been relying on the expertise of Seven Senders since 2017. Previously, the e-commerce specialist had to independently organize the dispatch to the Alpine republic from its warehouse in Berlin to the logistics hub of Austrian Post. As a result, the company was tied to two different contractual partners for its Austrian business: the forwarding agent, who transported the goods into the country, and the local postal company, which assumed the role of last-mile carrier. „This led to a number of disadvantages,“ recalls logistics expert Zimmer.

„There was hardly any flexibility when volumes fluctuated, and in addition, we were unable to predict costs transparently due to the Linehaul model and the parcel service provider setup“.

Since daily journeys and a corresponding feed into the postal network could not be realized economically due to fluctuating delivery volumes, the overall delivery time of the parcels to the customer was extended.


Shipping with style

Today, the Seven Senders delivery platform handles the entire transport organization for deliveries to Austria. It also provides the carrier with the necessary loading space and thus ensures that parcels arrive at the hub in the destination country on time. There the parcels are fed into the distribution network of Austrian Post, with which Seven Senders cooperates, for delivery to customers.

Ready for future growth

Outfittery welcomes cooperation with a fixed contact person with profound expertise in e-commerce. Zimmer explains: „We also appreciate that we receive an invoice based on transparent prices and that we were able to shorten the transit times to Austria by up to one day, even in view of fluctuating volumes“. The partners currently expect a volume increase of 30 percent in shipments to Austria, with other countries to follow in the coming months. Outfittery is well prepared for this growth thanks to its cooperation with Seven Senders.
